OUR AKITAS
& a Bordeaux too...
OPR'S Oriental Spice Shichi RAD

Born July of 2004, this girl has stolen our hearts. Looking alot like her grandfather, CH Akiko's Lord of the Rings, we expect her to follow in his footsteps. She has breathtaking movement, large bone, a beautiful head and gorgeous coat. Never could I ask for a sweeter disposition or a more perfect example of the breed. Ginger belongs to Gloria Ketcher & Greg Thomas. Watch for her in the ring this year. Thanks to Gloria for allowing me to show this wonderful girl. Also watch for her brother, OPR-Shichi's Strider the Ranger.
OPR's Rapsody Zinfindel Rose

Zin is our CH Berr daughter co-owned with Gloria of OPR Akitas. She combines the wonderful lines of OPR, Kamiaki and Regalia. She has great bone and substance, a dense coat and movement to die for. Shown above at the age of 18mths taking her first of back-to-back breed wins at the Little Rock, AR shows in June, 2005. The judges admired and commented on her perfect length and those gorgeous hooded ears. Watch for her in the ring during the months to come.
Scioto Bluff Five Card Draw

Reno is a wonderful guy. He loves to play and and as sweet as any big boy I've ever had the pleasure of handling.  Reno belongs to Calvin & Grace Winders of Scioto Bluff Akitas in Arkansas. He will be spending the summer with us going to the shows. Pictured here at 19 mths during his third weekend out winning his first major going WD/BOW under Mr. Lester R Mapes at the Calcasieu Kennel Club show in Lake Charles, LA on 6/11/05. Reno is out of CH Scioto Bluff's Strutter x Scioto Bluff Sign O'The Times. Watch for this handsome man to make his appearance in a ring near you.

OPR's Unmistakably Radiant

Missy is definately a Momma's girl. She loves to stand up and give you a hug. She helps to welcome all new additions to our home. She is very playful, but yet gentle. Her favorite playmate is Freddie, our Shiba. Missy is pointed and will resume showing after raising her babies. Missy is OFA Good & CERF clear. She has a new found happiness welcoming Caesar into our home.
Oak Rogue's Caesar Augustus

Meet our newest addition!! Caesar is a great-nephew of Opus, pictured below. He has alot of the wonderful qualities of Opus, but has more energy than any Dogue I've ever seen. It's not unusual for him to jump and clear the coffee table. We have to race him to the bed, as he loves my pillow. Everyone else is content sleeping in their own beds except for him. Caesar came to us from the Stefan family outside of Chicago. Visit often to see new pictures of our new boy. Here are a few of Caesar playing with the water.
In Memory...

We'll follow the rainbow
Wherever the four winds blow
And there'll be a new day
Comin' your way

I'm gonna be here for you from now on
This you know somehow
You've been stretched to the limits
But it's alright now
And I'm gonna make you a promise
If there's life after this
I'm gonna be there to meet you
With a warm, wet kiss

Ferncreek's Akachan Tenshi

Akai was our first Akita.  She came to us one week before our son was born and they were raised together. She was wonderful, very gentle with the baby, very protective of our home yet as sweet as any dog I've ever seen. She "helped us raise" both of our children. I absolutely fell in love with the breed, and decided this was the perfect dog. She touched our hearts and our lives unlike any other force of nature and we can only pray that our puppies will do the same for their families.
Serenity Ranch Foster's Opus 1

Opus and Missy became best friends after our first Akita, Akai, crossed the bridge. Opus was a very sweet boy. He lost his battle against lymphoma one week after diagnosis. He was our buddy and we will carry his love with us always.
See the next page for pictures of some of our puppies.
